The Bible We believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the infallible, inerrant and inspired Word of God.1 It carries the full weight of God’s authority and contains all truth for all men in all times and places. The Trinity We believe that, within the Godhead, there is a unity2 of three distinct yet fully divine persons.3 The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are the same in substance, equal in power and glory. God We believe that God is a Spirit.4 He is infinite, self-existent and eternal.5 Unchangeable in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness and truth.6 God is fully omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent, not given to change.7
1. 2 Timothy 3:16,17 - All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2. Deuteronomy 6:4 - “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.” 3. Matthew 28:19 – “ Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” 4. John 4:24 - God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. 5. Psalm 90:2 - Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. 6. Romans 11:36 - For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. Ephesians 1:11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will… Hebrews 1:3 - He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. 7. James 1:17 - Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
Jesus Christ We believe that Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man,8 possessing two natures, united inseparably in one divine person, without confusion, mixture, separation or division. Each nature retains its own attributes. Jesus was born and lived a life not marred by sin.9 He was crucified,10 died,11 and was buried,12 and on the third day, He rose again,13 ascended into heaven14 with the promise that He would come again in glory and judgment.15 Through His sacrificial death on the cross, Jesus Christ took upon Himself the sins of men and suffered the just punishment for them.16 His resurrection from the dead was the validation that His sacrifice was found acceptable by the Father.17 He is and remains the only mediator between God and man.18 The Holy Spirit We believe that the Holy Spirit is of one substance with the Father and the Son.19 He proceeds from the Father and the Son and dwells in the hearts of believers,20 effecting their regeneration monergistically21 and continues to work within them for their sanctification synergistically.22
8. John 1:1-14 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light. The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own,[b] and his own people[c] did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son[d] from the Father, full of grace and truth. 9. 1 Peter 2:22 – He [Jesus] committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. 10. John 17:18, 19 - So they took Jesus, and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called the place of a skull, which is called fin Hebrew Gol'gotha. There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them. 11. Mark 15:37 - And Jesus uttered a loud cry and breathed his last. 12. Matthew 27:57-60 - When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who also was a disciple of Jesus. He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him. And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen shroud and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut in the rock. And he rolled a great stone to the entrance of the tomb and went away. 13. Matthew 28:1-6 - Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. 14. Acts 1:9 - And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. 15. Acts 1:10-11 - They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” Revelation 22:12 - Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. 16. 2 Corinthians 5:21 - For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 17. Romans 4:16-25 - That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist. In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, “So shall your offspring be.” He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness[b] of Sarah's womb. No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification. 18. John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 1 Timothy 2:5 - For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 19. Genesis 1:1, 2, 26 - In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters… Then God said, “Let us make man[h] in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 20. John 15:26 - “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.” 21. John 6:63 - It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. 22. John 16:13a - When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority…
Back to TopCreation We believe that God, through the power of His word, created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them from nothing.23 He preserves and governs over His creation and His creatures according to His most holy, wise and just providence.24 Man We believe that man was created by God, both male and female.25 God created man in His own image, but because of Adam’s rebellion, mankind fell from a state of grace to one of moral corruption and moral inability.26 Deserving, as the just reward for his sin, eternal punishment.27 Atonement We believe that Jesus Christ reconciled man to God by virtue of His sacrificial death and resurrection, taking upon Himself the wrath of God’s justice for the sins of men.28 On the Cross, the sins of men were imputed to Christ.29 Through the work of His substitutionary death, the righteousness of Christ is imputed to all believers, securing for them full redemption from their sins.30 The Law We believe that the moral law of God perfectly reflects the unchangeable character of God and remains binding upon of men of all time.31
23. John 1:3 - All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 24. Colossians 1:16, 17 - For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 25. Genesis 1:27 - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 26. Romans 5:12 - Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men[e] because all sinned. 27. Romans 6:23a - For the wages of sin is death… 28. Matthew 8:17 - This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: “He Himself took our infirmities and carried away our diseases.” 29. Galatians 3:13 - Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree.” 30. 2 Corinthians 5:21 - For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 31. Psalm 111:7,8 - The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy; they are established forever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness.
The Church We believe that the church was established by Christ32 and is called to live in the power of the Holy Spirit under the authority of the Word of God. Charged with maintaining the purity of the Word through sound doctrine,33 proclaiming the gospel, administering the sacraments and exercising discipline.34 Christianity and Culture We believe that the Word of God has jurisdiction over all of life,35 that it is the final authority on every subject of which it speaks.36 We believe it provides all that is needed to ensure human flourishing.37 We believe in the personhood of all men and women, from the earliest stages of life to the latest.38 We believe that all men and women, regardless of race, are created in the image and likeness of God, and, as God’s image bearers are entitled to all the respect that is due.39 We believe in the biblical definitions of gender, sexuality and marriage.40
32. Matthew 16:18 - I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. 33. Jude 3: Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. 34. Matthew 28:19, 20 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” 35. Matthew 5:13-16 - You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that[b] they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. 36. John 17:17 - Sanctify them[b] in the truth; your word is truth. 37. John 5:39 - "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me," 38. Psalm 139:13-16 - For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in Your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. 39. Revelation 7:9, 10 - After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” 40. Matthew 19:4-6 - He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
